What caused (ie. event, issue crisis) the organization to be created?The founder, George Ryerson, was inspired during Louis Riel’s North West Rebellion to aid Canadians. He felt that something needed to be done to help those in need. Over the years, it has expanded largely into many countries.

What are the main goals or missions of the organization?The Canadian Red Cross’ goal is to aid those in need, and mobilize the power of humanity not only in Canada, but in all of the world. They focus on respect, humanitarian values, dignity and care for one another within and outside of Red Cross. As well as accountability, sincerity, clarity and effectiveness.
